  {"id":9035,"date":"2025-12-24T15:07:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T15:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live-tmeic.pantheonsite.io\/?p=9035"},"modified":"2026-01-09T16:25:57","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T16:25:57","slug":"nanocomposite-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tmeic.com\/zh-hans\/nanocomposite-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"TMEIC Develops World\u2019s First Mica Insulating Tape Using Nanocomposite Technology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Enables Smaller Rotating Machinery as well as Reduces Losses and Improves Efficiency<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TMEIC Corporation (President &amp; CEO Akira Kawaguchi; hereinafter, \u201cTMEIC\u201d or \u201cthe Company\u201d) has developed the world\u2019s first<sup>*<em><sub>1<\/sub><\/em><\/sup>, nanocomposite mica insulating tape using nanocomposite technology<sup>*<em>2<\/em><\/sup>. By incorporating this tape into the insulation systems of high-voltage rotating machinery, TMEIC enables more compact, higher-efficiency motors and generators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TMEIC has independently developed<sup><em>*3<\/em><\/sup> a technology to uniformly disperse the small nanoparticles embedded in mica insulating tape throughout the insulation system. Applying this technology, the Company has created nanocomposite mica insulating tape with a reduced insulation-layer thickness compared to conventional mica insulating tape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The benefits of using this tape in rotating machinery are as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1\uff0eCompact, higher-efficiency rotating machinery<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>By embedding nanoparticles, the insulation layer is reduced in thickness, enabling more compact rotating machines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reducing the insulation-layer thickness increases the copper fill factor in the stator coils, suppresses copper loss and improves machine efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applying this tape, a synchronous generator (800 kVA \u2013 6.6 kV \u2013 1000 min\u207b\u00b9) developed in September 2025 achieved approximately a 10% size reduction, 20% reduction in copper loss and 0.2% efficiency improvement compared with conventional models.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2\uff0eEfficiency improvement for existing machinery<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>By applying nanocomposite mica insulating tape during stator coil replacement of existing machines, the benefits described in 1- (2) above can be achieved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Moreover, the tape developed by TMEIC is easy to handle and transport, allowing maintenance and repair to be carried out at local service facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Comments by Executive Officer and Vice President Hideki Iwanaga, Rotating Machinery Systems Division:<br>\u201cTMEIC has developed the first synchronous generator to practically apply nanocomposite technology, which is attracting attention across various fields.
