Top Market Share of PV Inverters for Solar Power Generation Systems

TMEIC Achieves Cumulative Shipments of 1.4GW for the Vietnamese Market

Top Market Share of PV Inverters for Solar Power Generation Systems

As of the end of May 2019, Toshiba Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (hereinafter, “TMEIC”; President & CEO Masahiko Yamawaki) achieved 1.4GW in cumulative shipments of its PV inverters for the Vietnamese market for solar power generating systems.

The Vietnam government has set the target of increasing renewable energy, which accounts for less than 0.1% of among total electric power generation as of 2014, to 21% by 2030 and enforced the Feed in Tariff (FIT) scheme in June 2017 to promote this initiative.

Specifically, in terms of solar power generation, power plants generating approximately 2.9GW (DC basis) are expected to operate from early 2017 to the end of 2019*1. TMEIC is responding to such demand, and together with its global supply system and proven track record in delivering and installing an extensive product lineup, TMEIC achieved the top share in the Vietnamese PV inverter market as of the end of May 2019.

<TMEIC’s Strengths in the Vietnamese Market>

  1. An abundance of experience in delivering and installing products that exceed 17GW worldwide*2
  2. Supply system that utilizes production bases in China and India, which is geographically in proximity to the market
  3. Product lineup such as SOLAR WARE STATION (container solution) and Power Plant Controller responding to broad customer needs.

Comment by Vice President Naotada Sawada, Renewable Energy & New Technology Division:

“The Vietnamese solar power generation market is expected to expand further going forward and TMEIC will continue to address the demand and needs of the market as a leader in the industry.”
