TMEIC adding Medium Voltage VFD manufacturing to Katy, Texas
TMEIC moves production of the TMdrive-MVe2 to increase fabrication space and improve productivity.
Roanoke, VA, June 15, 2020 - TMEIC Power Electronics Products Corporation announces the relocation of its medium voltage variable frequency drive (VFD) manufacturing base from the current Houston facility to Katy, Texas. The Katy facility commenced operations in August 2017 to initially manufacture utility-scale photovoltaic inverters. The factory occupies 3.24 acres with a temperature-controlled indoor-floor space of 45,000 square feet. The facility was established as part of the company’s commitment to customer service to strengthen its power electronics business in North America and bring manufacturing capabilities closer clients. The relocation will be complete by the end of August 2020.
In addition to manufacturing the TMdrive-MVe2 Medium Voltage VFD, TMEIC will begin production of the TMdrive-MVG2 medium voltage VFD product line at the Katy factory. The TMdrive-MVG2 has previously been produced in Asia. The medium voltage VFDs manufactured will be applied in a variety of demanding industries such as oil & gas, mining, cement, water, wastewater, power generation, and others. Applications include pumps, compressors, fans, extruders, blowers, and others.
