Roanoke, Va. (July 29, 2011) - Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (TMEIC) of Tokyo, Japan, is proud to announce the formation of TMEIC Corporation, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary formerly known as TM GE Automation Systems, LLC.

TM GE Automation Systems was originally formed in 2003 in a joint venture between Toshiba, Mitsubishi and GE to capitalize on their joint strengths in targeted industry segments. Shifts in target markets and product strategies of the parent companies have resulted in the realignment, with Toshiba and Mitsubishi gaining 100 percent ownership of the new corporation.

TMEIC Corporation, with North American headquarters in Roanoke, Va., specializes in industrial automation systems for electric drives and motors for a wide range of industries, including metals, material handling, oil & gas, mining, and testing.

TMEIC, the parent company, is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and designs and manufactures drives, motors and complete engineered drive systems for the Metals, Oil & Gas, Material Handling, Utilities, Mining, Cement, Paper, and other industrial markets.
