TMEIC Partners with IIT Guwahati to Develop Highly Advanced Tool for Rotating Machinery Design

TMEIC Industrial Systems India Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter, “TMEIC India”), a Group company of Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation, Japan (hereinafter, “TMEIC”; President & CEO Masahiko Yamawaki) announced today that TMEIC Group has signed an agreement to partner with the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT-G) to develop a highly advanced software tool for designing its rotating machinery.

The collaboration between IIT-G, which possesses extensive knowledge in terms of advanced technology, and TMEIC’s more than 100 years of experience and technological capability in manufacturing rotating machinery would lead to the development of some of the finest machines in the world,” said Mr. Hidetoshi Kanzaki, TMEIC Executive Officer and Vice President of the Rotating Machinery Systems Division.

“We are delighted to partner with TMEIC to bring a new quality experience for their customers,” said Prof. Gautam Biswas, Director – IIT Guwahati. “This software tool, which would realize optimal efficiency in the TMEIC design process, intends to harness the power of modern technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), Neural Networks and Machine Learning to make it truly revolutionary and a design powerhouse,” adds Dr. Praveen Kumar, IIT-G professor in charge of development for this project.

TMEIC manufactures Induction & Synchronous rotating machines at their works in Japan. TMEIC India also manufactures Induction rotating machines rating up to 20MW class in their state-of-the-art green factory in Tumakuru, Karnataka, India near Bengaluru.
