TMEIC Receives Dual Global Awards in the Industrial Power Electronics Category from Frost & Sullivan

Winning the Most Prestigious Global Award for the Fifth Year in a Row

Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (hereinafter, “TMEIC”; President & CEO Masahiko Yamawaki) received the most prestigious 2019 Global Company of the Year Award and the 2019 Global Technology Leadership Award in the Industrial Power Electronics category in December 2019 from the major research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan based in California in the United States.

Frost & Sullivan bestows Best Practice Awards annually to companies that have achieved outstanding performance in respective industries based on distinguishing research. The Global Company of the Year Award represents the highest honor. TMEIC has won the award for two consecutive years in the Industrial Power Electronics category and for three years in succession prior to that in the PV Inverter category, with the award received this year marking the fifth year in a row.

This year’s award was in recognition of various factors that include TMEIC’s high reputation gained from its customers in the industrial power electronics field and capturing and maintaining a dominant global market share, along with actively pursuing business development based on its PEiE (Power Electronics in Everything) concept. The Company was particularly highly regarded for its development of products that excel in quality, reliability, and efficiency in addition to the supply of products and services that reflect customer feedback while meeting latent needs.

In addition, TMEIC won the Global Technology Leadership Award for the first time this year. TMEIC was highly rated for being a leader in the power electronics field by contributing to and driving development in a wide array of industrial domains, ranging from manufacturing to renewable energy. This included the launch of product groups such as the modular-type PV inverter SOLAR WARE U newly developed upon a comprehensive understanding of real market needs based on the newly proposed Modular Power Electronic System, a future trend in power electronics technology; as well as a large-capacity Multiple Power Compensator (MPC) for the Chinese market.

Comments by Vice President Akira Kawaguchi, Power Electronics Systems Division
“I am delighted that our contribution to customers through the development and continuous implementation of our PEiE concept has been recognized in such a way. Going forward, we will continue to provide products, engineering, and services in such areas as PV inverters for solar power generation systems where we have enhanced customer satisfaction, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and motor drive systems. We aim to help achieve the SDGs* through our business activities.”
