TMEIC Sweeps Frost and Sullivan Award for the Second Consecutive Year

Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (hereinafter, “TMEIC”; President & CEO Kiyotaka Machida) received the 2015 Global Company of the Year Award in the PV inverter category for the second consecutive year. This top honor was presented by the major research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan based in California in the United States.

Frost & Sullivan is actively involved in generating business growth initiatives globally with an emphasis on market research, analysis and consulting. The firm bestows Company of the Year awards annually based on independent research regarding companies that have demonstrated excellent achievements in activities and performance in respective industries. The awards are separated into the Japan, Asia Pacific region and global markets, in which the global award currently won by TMEIC is the highest honor. Last year TMEIC was the first Japanese company to receive this Global Company of the Year Award since the award was first established. This year, TMEIC takes great pride in winning the 2015 Global Company of the Year Award for the second year in a row.

Frost & Sullivan presented this award in recognition of TMEIC's high-performance and highly reliable inverter technologies. Along with setting up production facilities, not only in Japan but also in the United States, China and India, which are positioned as key markets of the PV business, TMEIC was also noted for its global expansion initiatives in capturing market trends. In addition, the Company earned high marks for its sales performance, in which TMEIC has achieved rapid growth particularly over the past two years, as well as for its concerted efforts focused on cost of ownership (optimization of power generation cost and minimization of customers’ power generation cost). Among other factors, TMEIC has also gained strong trust from the market as evidenced by achieving shipments of more than 10,000 PV inverters and increasing repeat customers.
